Privacy Policy
What we collect, what we don't, and why. Plain English where the law lets us.
Effective date: April 15, 2026
We collect your email when you subscribe, and payment details when you purchase one of our products — payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. We don't run analytics, set cookies, or fingerprint your browser. Email hi@inventowise.com to delete anything we have on you.
1. Who we are
This policy is published by INVENTOWISE LLC, an independent software studio based in Amherst, New Hampshire, USA. Throughout this policy, "we", "us", and "our" mean INVENTOWISE LLC.
This policy covers inventowise.com and all products operated by INVENTOWISE LLC, including but not limited to Listowise (listowise.com). When you use any of our products, you agree to this policy.
2. What we collect
When you subscribe to updates or use the contact form, we collect:
- Your email address. Required to send you the updates you signed up for.
- Whatever you type in the message field. Optional. Helps us understand your operation if you've shared one.
When you purchase or subscribe to one of our paid products, our payment processor (Stripe) collects:
- Payment method details — card number, expiration date, CVC, and billing address. These are sent directly to Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Transaction records — amount, currency, date, and status of each charge. We receive these from Stripe to maintain your account and provide receipts.
- Your name and email — so we can associate the payment with your account.
Our hosting provider (Vercel) keeps standard request logs — IP address, user agent, requested path, timestamp — for a short window so we can debug outages and block abuse. We don't link those logs to subscribers.
3. What we don't collect
- No analytics scripts (no Google Analytics, no Plausible, no Mixpanel)
- No third-party cookies
- No browser fingerprinting
- No advertising trackers
- No direct handling of raw card numbers — payment data goes straight to Stripe
4. Why we collect it
One reason: to send you what you asked for, then reply if you wrote us a message. We don't sell your email, we don't add you to drip campaigns, and we don't share your address with anyone except the tools listed below that help us deliver the email.
5. Third parties
We rely on a small number of trusted services:
- Stripe processes all payments and stores payment method data. Your card details are sent directly to Stripe and never pass through our servers. Privacy policy: stripe.com/privacy .
- Buttondown stores the subscriber list and sends the newsletter. Privacy policy: buttondown.com/legal/privacy .
- Vercel hosts this website and runs the form handler. Privacy policy: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy .
We don't share your data with anyone else. If we ever bring on a new processor, we'll update this list before it goes live.
6. How long we keep it
We keep your email and message until you ask us to delete it, or until you unsubscribe — whichever comes first. Vercel's standard request logs roll off on their own (typically within 30 days).
Payment transaction records are retained for as long as required by applicable tax and accounting laws (typically 7 years in the US). Stripe retains payment method data according to their own retention policy.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (GDPR in the EU/UK, CCPA/CPRA in California, similar laws elsewhere), you have the right to:
- Know what we have on you
- Get a copy of it
- Correct anything that's wrong
- Have us delete it
- Tell us to stop sending you email — the unsubscribe link in every email works for this
Email hi@inventowise.com with the subject "Privacy request" and we'll handle it within 30 days. We won't ask you for ID — your email address itself is the identifier.
8. International users
We're based in the United States. If you subscribe from outside the US, your data will be transferred to and processed in the US. By signing up, you consent to that transfer. Buttondown and Vercel both maintain standard contractual clauses for cross-border transfers.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults running their own e-commerce stores. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 13. If you think a child has subscribed, email us and we'll delete the record.
10. Changes to this policy
When we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or who we share it with, we'll send a heads-up to active subscribers before the change takes effect. Continued use of the site means you accept the updated policy.
11. Contact
